Potato salad with mayonnaise

Traditional potato salad with mayonnaise, suitable as a side dish for the main course.

  • 200 ml mayonnaise Added to
  • salt to taste Added to
  • Ground black pepper to taste Added to
  • 2 tablespoon mustard Added to
  • 2 tablespoon vinegar Added to
  • Various vegetables to taste (e.g. peppers, cucumber) Added to

1. Step

Peel the potatoes and cut into small cubes. Boil them in salted water until they are soft but not crumbled. They are usually cooked for about 20 minutes, but always check their softness with a fork before removing them from the heat.

2. Step

While the potatoes are cooking, hard boil the eggs. This takes about 10 minutes from the moment the water starts to boil.

3. Step

Finely chop the onion and add to the bowl. Then add mayonnaise, mustard and vinegar. Mix everything well.

4. Step

When the potatoes and eggs are cooked, let them cool down a bit. Then cut the potatoes and peeled eggs into cubes and add to the bowl with the other ingredients.

5. Step

Finally, add salt and pepper to taste and add chopped vegetables if you have them. Mix everything well and refrigerate for at least an hour before serving. This salad is best when it has had time to chill so that the flavors really meld together.
