Honey cake is one of the typical Russian desserts. It is easy to make, so you can make a homemade one by following this recipe.
- 150 g sugar
- 100 g butter
- 7 g baking soda
- 2 egg
- 410 g self-rising flour
- 400 g creme fraiche
- 400 g heavy cream
- 6 tablespoon icing sugar
In a small saucepan boil the butter with sugar and honey.
Add baking soda and cook 30 seconds more. Cool the mixture for 10 minutes.
Add egg and mix well. Then, add the flour and prepare the dough.
Divide the dough into 10-12 portions and roll out very thin. Bake at 180 degrees until golden brown.
Whip the cream with icing sugar. Then, add creme fraiche and whip again. Place the cream on each sponge cake.
Finish the edges with cream and put the cake in the fridge for 6-10 hours.
Crush the leftover margins and place on top of the cake.
Serve and enjoy.
