Tasty Christmas Quiche
I love cooking and I love experimenting with different recipes. A few years ago, during the Christmas season, I came across this recipe for \Christmas quiche\ Since then, it has become a tradition in my family to prepare it every year for Christmas Eve dinner. It is a recipe rich in flavor, easy to prepare and perfect to share with the family during this special time of the year.
Ingredients
- 1 foil short-crust pastry
- 200 grams of diced bacon
- 200 grams Mushrooms cut in slices
- 150 grams Of grated cheese (you can choose the one you like, but emmental or gouda cheese goes very well)
- 4 Eggs
- 200 ml Of milk cream

Directions
Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. This will ensure that your quiche cooks evenly.
Grease a tart pan with butter and place the shortcrust pastry on top. Make sure it covers the entire bottom and sides. This is a technique I learned to prevent the dough from falling during baking.
In a frying pan with a little oil, sauté the bacon pieces until golden brown. Then, remove them and in the same pan, sauté the mushrooms. Personally, I prefer to cook them separately so that each ingredient maintains its flavor and texture.
In a bowl, beat the four eggs, add the cream, salt and pepper to taste. You can add a pinch of nutmeg if you like, it gives it a very Christmasy touch and I always find it delicious.
Arrange the bacon and mushrooms on top of the shortcrust pastry already placed in the mold. Then, pour the egg and cream mixture on top. Finish by sprinkling the grated cheese on top.
Bake for 30-35 minutes at 180 degrees or until you see that the quiche is golden brown. I always do the toothpick test to make sure the quiche is well cooked inside.
