Delicious Christmas pudding

As a lover of holiday cuisine, making Christmas pudding is one of my favorite traditions. This recipe has been tested and perfected over the years in my family. The aroma filling the house, the rich and intense flavors, simply evoke Christmas in every bite.

For the pudding:

  • 200 gr of sultanas Added to
  • 150 gr Of chopped candied fruits Added to
  • 100 gr Of pitted and chopped prunes Added to
  • 100 ml rum Added to
  • 200 gr Of butter at room temperature Added to
  • 200 gr of brown sugar Added to
  • 4 Eggs Added to
  • 200 gr of flour Added to
  • 1 cdta of baking soda Added to
  • 1 cdta Of baking powder Added to

For the Glaze:

  • 100 gr of powdered sugar Added to
  • 2 cdas of hot water Added to

1. Step

First, soak the raisins, candied fruits and prunes in the rum for at least 3 hours before starting the recipe. This step is key to get the rum flavor in the pudding.

2. Step

Preheat the oven to 160°C and prepare a cake pan with baking paper. A trick I often use is to grease the pan first before putting the paper, so it adheres better.

3. Step

Beat the butter with the sugar to a smooth paste. Add the eggs one at a time, beating between each addition.

4. Step

Sift the flour with the baking soda and baking powder. Sifting is necessary to avoid lumps so that the pudding batter has a uniform texture.

5. Step

Add the fruits and rum to the mixture and stir well.

6. Step

Pour the batter into the pan and bake for 1.5 hours or until a toothpick comes out clean.

7. Step

For the icing, simply mix the powdered sugar with hot water to a light consistency.

8. Step

When the pudding is ready, let it cool before unmolding and cover with the glaze.
