Chinese Chicken San Choy Bau Lettuce Wraps

1. Step

In a large frying pan, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the onion and garlic, and sauté until the onion becomes translucent.

2. Step

Add in the ground chicken and use a spatula to break it up as it cooks. Cook until chicken is fully cooked and no longer pink.

3. Step

Add the carrot, red bell pepper, and water chestnuts to the pan. Stir well and continue cooking for another 2-3 minutes.

Then add the oyster sauce and soy sauce, stirring well to combine all the flavors together. Add the cornstarch and water mixture to help thicken the sauce. Salt and pepper to taste. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.

5. Step

While the mixture is cooling, carefully separate the lettuce leaves from the head of lettuce.

6. Step

Spoon the cooled chicken mixture into the middle of a lettuce leaf and garnish with cilantro and spring onion. Repeat with remaining ingredients.

7. Step
